Education and Training Infrastructure

Education and Training Infrastructure

Skills for the Future. Opportunity for Every Ward.

Education and Training Infrastructure is Sky Muasya’s plan to prepare the young people of Kathiani for the jobs of today and tomorrow by expanding access to quality technical and professional education.

Sky Muasya believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to gain practical skills close to home without travelling long distances.

His plan focuses on establishing training institutions across all four wards of Kathiani.

Kathiani Ward

Establish a Medical Training College to train future healthcare professionals and support the growth of Kathiani Level 4 Hospital.

Mitaboni Ward

Establish a Technical Training Institute offering courses in engineering, ICT, construction and other technical skills.

Upper Kaewa Ward

Establish a Technical and Vocational Training Centre to equip young people with practical skills for employment and self employment.

Lower Kaewa Ward

Establish a Business and Vocational Training Institute focusing on entrepreneurship, business development and vocational skills.

This approach ensures that every ward benefits from quality training opportunities while reducing the cost of pursuing higher education away from home.

Sky Muasya’s vision is simple:

Every ward deserves a modern training institution. Every young person deserves the opportunity to build a successful future.

By investing in education and skills today, Kathiani will create a generation of professionals, entrepreneurs, artisans and innovators who will drive the constituency’s development for decades to come.

The Real Challenge

  • Many young people in Kathiani complete school without practical skills, travel far for technical training and miss opportunities because of limited local institutions.
  • Despite the opportunities created by the Kenya 2010 Constitution and the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Act, 2015, very little constituency investment has gone into technical and professional training infrastructure in Kathiani.
  • Education without practical skills limits opportunity.

Our Commitment

  • Establish TVET and medical training institutions in Kathiani.
  • Expand access to practical and technical education.
  • Bring training opportunities closer to the people.
  • Ensure equal development across wards.

TTI in Mitaboni Ward

  • Support establishment of a Technical Training Institute focused on building and construction, ICT, electrical installation, mechanical skills and technical and artisan training.
  • These skills are linked directly to jobs and self employment.

KMTC in Kathiani Central Ward

  • Advocate for establishment of a Kenya Medical Training College campus linked to Kathiani Level 4 Hospital.
  • Training areas will include nursing, clinical medicine, community health and laboratory sciences.
  • Local students will access medical training opportunities closer to home.

TTI in Upper Kaewa

  • Support technical and vocational training focused on artisan skills, welding, carpentry, technical education and youth empowerment.
  • This expands opportunity to more communities.

TTI in Lower Kaewa

  • Support establishment of a technical institution focused on vocational training, business skills, technical courses and employment preparation.
  • Practical education for modern opportunities.

Five Year Phased Development Plan

  • All institutions will be phased strategically within 5 years to ensure equal distribution of development, fair access to training opportunities and inclusion of all parts of Kathiani.
  • No ward will be left behind.

What This Will Do

  • Create skilled youth.
  • Reduce unemployment.
  • Promote self employment.
  • Reduce cost of training.
  • Strengthen local economy.
  • Build a modern skilled population.
  • Skills create jobs. Skills create development.

Historical Failure

  • Since the promulgation of the Kenya 2010 Constitution and the birth of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Act, 2015, Kathiani has invested very little in major education and training infrastructure.
  • While other areas expanded technical institutions and training opportunities, many youth in Kathiani were left behind.
